Our Cape Cod Campgrounds’ Facilities are Ideally Located

North of Highland Camping Area is situated on nearly 60 acres of pine trees, completely surrounded by all of the natural beauty of the Cape Cod National Seashore park.

We are near the tip of Cape Cod in North Truro, Massachusetts only a few minutes walk from nearby Head of the Meadow Beach. Since we are close to both Wellfleet and Provincetown camping at North of Highland is the ideal location for your next Cape Cod camping vacation.

 Our Facilities:

• CLEAN RESTROOM FACILITIES: 
  North of Highland has four camping area sections – Areas 1, 2, 3, & 4, each with its own restroom facilities, including flushing toilets, drinking water spigots, drinking fountain bubblers, and outdoor cold water showers for rinsing off after a day on the nearby Cape Cod beaches.

• CLEAN SHOWER FACILITIES:
  Our shower facility is centrally located with a total of 24 HOT metered showers.  Our showers are coin-operated costing only 25 cents for about 7 minutes; and each shower has its own  private changing area with bench seating.

• LAUNDRY FACILITIES:
  Our modern laundry facilities includes a half-dozen large capacity coin-operated washers and dryers, plus a folding table and waiting area

• CAMP STORE:
  During our busy season we have a convenient camp store carrying many camping staples such as ice, milk, drinks, groceries, camping equipment, books & other activities, candy, snacks and even a variety of ice cream deserts.

• RECREATION HALL:
  Our large recreation building is the perfect place to meet together with friends and enjoy some games or conversation near the fireplace while camping on Cape Cod

  • FIRE PLACE – Our large fire place is perfect for warming up on a cool evening of camping on Cape Cod, or for drying out whenever it rains
  • 2 Billiard Pool Tables – Pool equipment including balls and cues are supplied on an hourly rental basis through the campground store
  • 4 Ping Pong Tables – paddles and balls are provided without cost for a small deposit
  • 2 Foose Ball Tables
  • Picnic Tables – The recreational hall is stocked with plenty of picnic tables for gathering together with family and friends, playing cards or just reading a book

• CHILDREN’S PLAYGROUND:
  Kids love to play for hours in our playground area.  For safety it is completely fenced-in and filled with sand.  Just outside we have several picnic tables for parents to sit and watch their children for supervision.  Our playground equipment includes:

  • Merry-Go-Round

  • Balancing Beam

  • Spring Animal Riders

• ADULT QUIET ROOM / READING LOUNGE WITH TELEVISION:
  This reading lounge is specifically designated for adult use only.  There is rustic sitting furniture, a bookcase with shared books and board games, a card table, and a television.  You can sit back and relax while watching the news or weather, or just curl up with a favorite book or game.   To help you stay in touch even while you are getting away from it all, we allow cell phones and tablets to be charged in this room while an adult remains present.

• FREE FIREWOOD:
  Depending on the time of year and demand, we typically provide a woodpile near the campground entrance for campers to use for BEACH Fires free of charge.  Please note that because of our natural setting FIRES ARE NOT ALLOWED WITHIN THE CAMPGROUND. Beach fires are, however, permitted at Head of the Meadow Beach (and other town beaches) in the evenings when you register for a free fire permit from the town of Truro.  Fire permits may usually be reserved in advance online, so please check with the town for specific details and availability.
