NORTH OF HIGHLAND CAMPING AREA is pleased to be operating under normal conditions once again this summer on Cape Cod.

Over the past few summers we have prepared a detailed COVID-19 Plan, revised our cleaning and disinfecting procedures, retrained our staff, and made other changes to help ensure our campground continues to operate respectfully and responsibly. Many of our guests have thanked us for how well we managed the changing pandemic.  They’ve told us they were pleased by how clean our facilities were maintained and how comfortable and safe they felt here in our campground. We remain committed to continuing to focus on your comfort and security while still providing as much freedom and opportunity for guests to experience the wonders of Cape Cod and our natural camping environment.

The health and wellbeing of our guests and our staff remains our highest priority.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:

Staying physically active is one of the best ways to keep your mind and body healthy.
In many areas, people can visit parks, trails, and open spaces as a way to relieve stress,
get some fresh air and vitamin D, stay active, and safely connect with others.

So What Can You Do to Help?

  • Please read and follow any campground guidelines that may be provided during your check-in.
  • In order to help keep all of our guests protected, we insist that you do NOT come camping if you or any member of your group:
    • Is experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19 – including having a fever, respiratory difficulty or experiencing loss of taste or smell
    • Is currently under health provider requested isolation
    • Has recently tested positive for the COVID-19 virus
  • We have always limited the number of individual guests allowed to share a common campsite overnight to a maximum of four adults.  We likewise have limited families to a maximum of 6 immediate family members, including their kids.
  • All guests and visitors MUST be registered with the camp office UPON ARRIVAL, and MUST provide appropriate contact information.

  • To further assist in maintaining privacy and the natural beauty of our camping environment we are asking guests to keep all of their camping equipment and gear, as well as their designated picnic table, within the central cleared portion of their own campsite, without expanding into the natural barrier areas between our campsites and roadways.

  • Make sure that we have your best EMAIL and telephone CONTACT INFORMATION, so that we can reach you quickly if needed.

    Our Sickness Policy:

    • In order to help keep all of our guests protected, we insist that you do NOT come camping if you, or any member of your group:
      • Is currently under health provider requested quarantine
      • Is awaiting COVID testing results or has recently tested positive for the COVID-19 virus
      • Is experiencing symptoms consistent with COVID-19 – including having a fever, respiratory issues, or a recent loss of taste or smell
      • Has recently been in close contact with someone who matches any of the above.
    • If you become ill while visiting Cape Cod we would ask that you self-quarantine yourself from others, that you seek medical advice, and that you consider COVID-19 testing if that is appropriate.
    • If you or any member of your group is determined to be COVID19 + while here on Cape Cod, we would ask you to immediately notify our office staff, and make arrangements to return home or seek medical assistance.
    • Notifying our office, enables us to take additional precautions to disinfect any surfaces that may have been touched, and to notify any other guests that may have been in close contact.
    • Likewise, we have established a sick policy for staff that requires them to stop work if they are ill, to isolate, rest, and monitor their symptoms (such as regularly taking their temperature and watching for headaches) until recovered.

    Cleaning & Disinfecting:

    • We are establishing thorough cleaning and disinfecting protocols utilizing best practice recommendations from the CDC and the Massachusetts EOEEA.

    • We train our staff to apply these detailed measures for daily cleaning and disinfecting of our various facilities, such as restroom, shower facilities, laundry, office, and camp store.
    • In addition to the daily cleanings, our staff will regularly perform more frequent disinfecting of high-touch surfaces such as door handles, counters, faucets, sinks, toilet seats, flush handles, and dispensers for soap, paper towel & hand sanitizers according to their level of usage.
    • Through our suppliers we have researched and purchased quantities of cleaning supplies including EPA approved N List cleaners and disinfectants, along with sanitizing wipes and other cleaning supplies, designated effective against human coronavirus.  We have worked hard to combine the need for efficacy against both virus and germs with the desire for our cleaning and disinfecting process to remain as safe as possible in application and handling for our staff and guests.

      Some Final Thoughts:

North of Highland Camping Area has been family owned and operated by our Currier family since 1954. From talking with you over the years, we know that many of you among our loyal camping customers eagerly anticipate staying with us on Cape Cod.  Many of you tell us that you circle your calendars months in advance, some planning all year long, for the brief summer getaways that you share with us.  Over the past several summers many of our guests told us that their trip with us on Cape Cod this summer was their one first or only opportunity to get outdoors with their family or closest friends.  Many indicated that this was by far the highlight of their year and was a much needed time for rest, relaxation, and some outdoor adventures.  In particular they appreciated being surrounded by the fresh air and natural wonders of Cape Cod in our clean and comfortable camping environment while still practicing responsible social distancing.  We are proud to continue providing these opportunities to our guests, and we look forward to serving you for many seasons to come.

      Sincerely,
      The Currier Family
