WE WILL OPEN FOR OUR 2025 CAMPING SEASON ON MAY 23

Now is a great time to start making plans to come camping with us this upcoming summer when we celebrate our 71st season of camping on cape cod.

We encourage guests to submit your reservation requests as early as possible, especially during the busy months of July & August. The greater availability allows us to select the very best campsite match, based on your stated preferences and the size and quantity of camping equipment you anticipate bringing.  For stays of less than 13 nights, we do not promise specific campsite locations in advance.  However, at the time of booking we assign what we believe is our best available campsite for each reservation.  Even for shorter stays, we attempt to best match your needs and preferences. Reserving well in advance also means that we will have less difficulty reserving campsites that are adjoining each other, as long as you and your friends request to be near one another. So please let us know if you plan to come camping with friends.

We proudly strive to provide guests with a clean, quiet vacation option for camping near some of Cape Cod’s best beaches. We remain one of the few campgrounds on Cape Cod that are focused on creating a more natural camping experience. Our wooded campsites are woven among the famously twisted pitch pine trees of the outer cape. The campground is completely surrounded by the Cape Cod National Seashore Park in scenic North Truro. Best of all, Head of the Meadow Beach is just a short walk away from our campsites.

We are more oriented toward tent camping than most other campgrounds these days.  So you won’t be lost in a sea of giant RVs.  However, we also provide some great campsite options for smaller tent trailers, or camper vans, as well as a few smaller travel trailers and RVs under 24 feet. So guests may still enjoy our more traditional camping experience with some of those comforts.

We are less about “glamping” and more about enjoying the natural wonder of Cape Cod in a peaceful camping environment.  In the interest of creating this peaceful and relaxing camping environment, we ask guests to be respectful of one another.  So guests are expected to follow our evening Quiet Hours, and to leave their pets, generators, and motorcycles at home.

Most of our campsites do not have electricity and water connections.  We only have a few designated full-season campsites that provide such hookups. This makes us an ideal fit for tenters, backpackers, and anyone looking for a more simple camping experience.  Instead, we have centrally located water spigots for excellent drinking water throughout the campground. We maintain clean restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities for our guests, as well as a convenient camp store for food and camping necessities that is open much of the season.

For convenience, we provide access to free charging stations in Area 1 for your essential personal electronics items, such as cell phones, laptops and tablets.  We also provide free Wi-Fi access for guests throughout much of Area 1. Wi-Fi is accessible in our large recreation hall, around our playground and outdoor picnic areas, and in our adult quiet room. This enables guests to comfortably use their laptops and phones to work on emails or remote work.

It has been rewarding to hear how many campers continue to appreciate the cleanliness of our facilities, and our focus on creating a more authentic, tent-focused and family friendly camping environment.

We greatly appreciate all of our returning camping guests, who stay with us frequently.  We are also thankful for the scores of first-time guests who discovered us over the past few years.  Many of you have shared that you intend to come back camping with us again this season, inviting your family and friends.  Others plan to stay even longer on your upcoming camping visit.  We are glad that so many fellow campers have been able to get outdoors and experience the natural beauty of Cape Cod!

Camping Cape Cod’s Best Location!

When it comes to camping Cape Cod is truly one of the best vacation destinations in the NortheastAlthough there are many campgrounds on Cape Cod, deciding where to stay on Cape Cod is easy…

Located close to beaches and other attractions: North of Highland Camping Area is the perfect spot to relax and unwind near the tip of Cape Cod. Our campsites rest on nearly 60 acres of wooded pine trees completely surrounded by the tranquility of the Cape Cod National Seashore Park. Stunning Head of the Meadow Beach is only a ten-minute walk from most of our campsites.  So we are close to the best Cape Cod beaches, yet we are also less than 10 minutes by car from all of the shopping and restaurants in nearby Provincetown and Wellfleet.  So you’ll get the best of both worlds.

Are you going to be TENT CAMPING on Cape Cod? Many of the other campgrounds on Cape Cod focus on large RVs and mega trailers, often parked side-by-side in pull through sites with little privacy.  By comparison our campsites are particularly tent friendly with campsites that are quietly nestled among twisting pine trees. If privacy is really important to you then you may want to consider requesting one of our more remote campsites, which we call “path sites”. You access these more secluded sites by walking along a short foot path, yet still are able to park your car or bicycles nearby in your designated parking spot. Each of our campsites is uniquely shaped by the contours of our Cape Cod landscape and the pine trees that abound throughout our campground. We think this makes for a more “relaxing” and “natural” camping experience than anywhere else on Cape cod.
